Business Service Manager | Brisbane CBD

We are a fast growing boutique advisory servicing high value private business, the medical profession and SMSF’s. We require a talented Business Services Manager to mentor and guide a team of 6/7 accountants.

Superior tax and Superannuation knowledge is a prerequisite to establish your leadership in this high performance team who provides strategic accounts, tax, business and financial advice.

Your role would be to partner with each accountant to ensure they:

  • Manage workflow
  • Achieve targets
  • Review and guide them on assignments
  • Help them identify opportunities
  • Help them formulate and engage client assignments
  • Help them cultivate client relationships

Additionally, you would have a small portfolio of large clients and help the firm’s Partners drive growth and achieve targets. This role includes collaborating with the partners to set objectives while providing you with autonomy to achieve them.

Job Requirements

  • Solid taxation knowledge, specifically in the SME & privately held business sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Able to provide commercial, solution-orientated advice to clients
  • Ability to critically examine the client situation, to identify opportunities for improving the clients overall taxation exposure
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to train and mentor advisors in the firm
  • Be well organised and strong in the documentation and preparation of quality working papers
  • Ability to deal with the ATO in respect of ruling requests & audits
  • Ability to negotiate on a client’s behalf with the relevant regulatory authorities
  • Ability to work with the client and the firm’s business advisory accountants to ensure thorough implementation of advice provided
  • Ability to provide the client where applicable with cost estimates for various work
  • Ability to produce a working budget for the delivery of the specific advice
  • Ability to manage jobs within a predefined budget;
    and
  • Ability to liaise with external legal and other advisors.
